The Owner

Drawn by a passion for guitars, I attended the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in 1999, where I was immersed in the world of guitar building.  Directly after, I worked as a custom guitar builder for James Tyler Guitars in Los Angeles, CA, building some of the finest hand made instruments for local and touring musicians.  In 2005, I relocated to the Bay Area where I began working in the world of instrument repair, eventually working for the top guitar repair shops in San Francisco, CA; all-the-while running my own busy home shop.

Over 25 years, I have tirelessly honed my skills to deliver quality and dependable service.  I believe that any repair or modification should be done respectfully and with great care for the heritage of the instrument; whether new or vintage, budget or priceless.  From a basic setup to a full restoration, all work performed will be done to specifically meet the client’s needs and is fully guaranteed.

The Shop

Axis Guitars was born from a lifelong passion for guitars and music, and over 15 years of countless hours spent on the bench.

We are proud to offer full service guitar repair, modification, and restoration to all stringed instruments.  Additionally, we offer custom builds and pedalboard design and wiring.  No job is too big or too small.  From a simple restring to a complicated restoration, the same care is taken each step of the way.

My professional, and personal, feelings have been that quality is always the first priority.  There are no corners to cut, no time to shave off.  A quality job is done one way: hard work.  My goal is that your repair exceeds all of your expectations and that it is delivered on time

Rates & Quotes

Each job is evaluated on an individual basis. Each instrument will often present unique conditions, and therefore may have more than one solution to the problem. In order to give an accurate price quote, all instruments need to be visually inspected.  We will make sure that you have a clear understanding of the work and all charges for parts and labor, as well as an accurate time frame for the job to be completed.  If anything comes up during the process of the repair, we will call you for approval before doing any extra work.

We make great efforts to have your instrument back in your hands as soon as possible.

Rush services are also available when needed.

For fastest service, please call during shop hours.

All messages and emails will be returned as soon as possible.  Please let us know if it is an emergency, and we will respond appropriately.
